27th Alderney Angling Festival

The ever popular Alderney Angling Festival enters it’s 27th year next month when anglers from all over Europe will converge on the island to target its myriad species.

The event takes place over a full week from Saturday 13th October finishing up at noon on the 20th.

The competition is a shore based species hunt with nominated species such as bream, conger and plaice being targeted over the seven days and nights. Every year quality fish are weighed in during the event and last year’s prize winners included a bass of over 15lb and a tope topping 40lb.

Access to the island is by air with Aurigny airlines and accommodation is readily available through theVisit Alderneywebsite.

Mark Harding ofAlderney Anglingcan supply live and frozen bait and has an excellent range of duty free tackle available for the visitor.

The excellent prize list includes awards for the top five in each nominated species category and has the bonus of a £2000 prize to anyone breaking a British record or £500 for a new Alderney record.
