Big Skegness Bass

by Chas Tibble

Catches have improved dramatically in the last couple of weeks for Skegness Pier Angling Club (S.P.A.C) members, with some decent fish being caught from local venues. Pick of the bunch came to Corby’s Paul Marshall, who took a break from match fishing to catch a 9lb 3oz bass from Mastin’s Corner, at the north end of Butlins. Paul used half a peeler crab on a single hook rig fished at distance to catch the personal best bass, which is an exceptional fish for the area and may well be in the running for winning regional awards with the Angling Trust.

Prospects are now looking really good for the next S.P.A.C match this coming Sunday 10th June from 8:30am till 12:30pm at North Shore Road, with Club Members fishing for the Dodsworth Cup. There is also an open section, which non-members are welcome to participate in. For further information contact SPAC Secretary Chas Tibble on 07984 967988 or chastibble@hotmail.com
