Humberside/Lincolnshire/Yorkshire report

Smith’s a lean, mean fishing machine…

Skegness RNLI Open was well attended and ideal conditions provided plenty of fish. George Smith fished like a machine, recording 28 fish for  a fantastic length total of just under 10 metres. Bill Sheppard was second on 20 fish for 679cms, with third going to Heacham-based Simon Buttery with 19 fish for 562cm. Dave Burr was fouth on 529cm, with match organiser Dean Sumner in fifth with 18 fish. Thanks to sponsors Anyfish Anywhere and Ultima. £268 was raised for the RNLI. The date for next year is 14th November, with fishing from 14.30 to 18.30hrs.

Reckitts SAC struggled to locate fish in less than ideal conditions the next day. Macky took top spot with 2 whiting and 3 flats for 1.54 kg. Second was Kev Barr with a cod  and a whiting, while Steve Green’s 3 whiting for 0.75kg took third.

Super league: Ian Render faired a lot better he had 2 cod, and a whiting for 3.3kg. Second was Mick Brockman on 1.1kg, with Stuart Loft third on  0.93kg.

HCA match was called off last weekend. The Winter League match has been rescheduled for December 14th.

Boats: Boat anglers struggling to both beat the weather and find fish. Although fish are not abundant, brighter news is that several double-figure fish have been caught.
