Cleethorpes Angling Centre mid-week match on Cleethorpes sea front produced decent catches and a variety of species including bass, whiting, flatfish and coalfish. John Atkinson finished in top spot with 26 fish measuring 529cms ahead of Ant Roffee whose catch measured 418cm . Third place went to Garry Hutson with 17 fish for 388cm including the biggest round fish of the night, a 37cm bass. The biggest flatfish was a 36cm flounder landed by Geoff Hill.

Humber SAC were in action on the Humber Bank wall last Saturday night where Simon Drayton took first place with 15 fish weighing 6.2lb. Runner-up Steve Robinson landed 14 fish for 4.1lb while third placed Harry Burnett weighed in nine fish for 4lb. Harry also had the biggest round fish of the night, a 40cm whiting and Adie Cooper had the biggest flatfish a 33cm flounder.

The club’s next match is Sunday 31st October meet at the woods at 08.45 and fishing is from 10am to 2pm.

Commercial SAC fished their second match of the season on Sunday 24th and all but three of the 28 entrants brought fish to the scales. Everybody headed for the shelter of the river with the sea being a little too heavy for safe fishing and the bags were made up of whiting and flounders. Kev Hewitt travelled half way round Holderness and the journey paid off when he landed 14 flounders in the last two hours of the match which added to five fish landed earlier gave him a total of 5.52kg. Nick Marshall landed a bag of 17 flounders weighing 4.6kg to finish ahead of third placed Ricky Drew whose all whiting catch weighed in at 3.06kg. The heaviest fish, a whiting of 0.64kg fell to Darren McKay fishing at Old Hall.

The next Commercial SAC match takes place from 10:00 to 16:00 on Sunday 7th November with registration between 08:00 and 08:30 on the morning of the event.
