Norfolk News – Weybourne Rover – 11-04-2016

by Dene Conway

19 anglers arrived at Weybourne to be greeted with a good, chopped up sea and fairly good weather, towards the end there was a little rain and the wind had died right off but the sea remained rough. After the match over the weekend the was hope for more of the dogfish to show along with the usual pin whiting, pouts and dabs.

Typical Weybourne whiting

With anglers going left and right there was a lot of ground covered and those who chose under the cliff they did lose gear but also managed to find the fish. You needed a dogfish to get you higher up the placing but this week’s winner didn’t just have one doggie he had four and a 30cm pout to secure his win. Well done to Neil for taking top spot with a cracking 7lb 141/3oz as this is his first pick up and he did it in style.

In second place this week finally getting his mojo back was Russell with two fish weighing 3lb 2oz. Third place went to Paul Rickard with one fish weighing in at 2lb 32/3oz. A special mention for Ron this week who managed to catch a dog lead, sadly no dogfish was on the end of it!

Next week we are at Bacton so please meet at the Redhouse caravan park at 6pm. And as always bait and booking in on here or via the shop please.
