Hey

Had the best week ever, this week with a group of lads from the british sea anglers! 7 lads came from thursday to Tuesday, they arrived on thursday afternoon and as soon as we were back at the centre the rods were out and they were straight on to the pier! Within a couple of minutes there were cod and Haddock coming in and then the doubles started I think the best one from the pier was 19 pound but that was nothing compared to what Straumen had to offer the lads with this massive 49 pounder!!

Then the next night came a 48 for Nicki!

And last night was finished off with this lovely 45pounder!!

It was a fantastic for the lads and me as a guide was over the moon!! Fish kept coming all week with big Haddock upto 7 pounds!

Also many cod were taken upto 20 pound and a 28 pounder!
Mick with an 18 pounder!

The Landing and a 14 pounder! Skarnsundet

Hi everyone

Went to fish a mark called the Landing lastnight! Bit rough with the snow but it kept fairly warm and there were plenty of codling around, all about 2-3 pound size there must have been a shoal hanging around!

Had about 5 this size then I got one a bit better!

Cracking cod at 14 pound

Not many pics but I ended up with 8 codling and the cod! All were taken on herring and CART and I had a bite a chuck! 4 hours was enoghe thou then the snow started to get heavier so I packed and drove the 3 mins back home!! Nice and easy mark, hope to see some better fish from it soon!!

Thanks for looking.

Have a look at our website www.skarnsundet.com were you can download our shore fishing broucher!!

30 pound of cod and a great afternoon! Skarnsundet

Hey

Went down to Shammys bank, which is the furthest end of Straumen this afternoon! Got there for 12 and packed in at 4! Had 4 cod and 2 codling! It must have been around 30 pound! My best fish was just over 8 pound and the codling were about 3 pounders! I fished write on the edge of the hole to see if the cod were still feeding there on the flood as the food starts to get washed back in again!!
One of the codling!

As the tide turned the better fish seemed to arrive!

The fish were in fantastic condition and were all taken on Cart and Herring!! Smaller baits this time thou, maybe that was why I didnt get any bigger ones!

Friend of mine set a new Norwegian record with a spurdog at 21.8 lbs last weekend. Big fish, and in addition it was taken from the ice! The cold has obviously hit us as well, and a lot of fjords is covered with ice at the moment. Really fun fishing!

Read about it on here - contacted the company in Bergen and got the larger blue light lure in no time.
Took the treble it came with off and placed the device after a 7 inch swedish type lure on the end of a christmas tree - lug and mackrel on the hooks too.
Tried a favourite spot about 1 1/2 miles out, in 55 metres deep water - the line went out and as soon as it hit bottom - bang - hauled it up and it ws a torsk - (brosme in norway) - of about 3 lbs, some 15 seconds tried again and same result - this time a torsk about 12 lbs, then a good sized haddock - 4/5 lbs, then a very small ur (not sure of the uk name but its bright orange and the eyes do interesting things with pressure change.)
My coullegue had 1 ling of about 5 lbs.
we then tried somewhere else but no luck.
Its a local saying that when the wind is from the north east you get no fish - ive not had much luck when that is the case and it was so last night - we met a party of very despondent anglers who were out at the same time - no luck at all. When we told them about the esca - i think they would have had one each, there and then.
This device definately works and works well - i think that bait is important, but not 100 percent. I did have fish that went for other lures on the tree, but most bit on the esca.
So you have a lure that is completely new - its the only elecronic lure on the market right now and probably for quite some time.
It works - the company even gaurantees the money back if it dosent.
You spent lets say 300 pounds on your rod and tackle, 10 pounds per lure - the boat cost several thousand pounds the whole point of the set up is fishing - you even loose the lures reguraily so what is 17 pounds -.
