Anyone know where i can get some ,fancy trying them at a few places as the season goes on only seem to get wee ones here.
OOPs sorry wrong bit should have been bait but cant seem to deleate it ,can a mod put it in correct place .

Best bet is to have a word wi your local creel fishermen, they’ll dump plenty of them. Give them a coolbox wi old damp towels or sacking in it and ask them to keep you some.

Cheers did ask a few oh the creelers last year that i know but they said the get the odd one here and there but not any amount.

Darn Sowf (Solent area), the whelkers have hit them so hard that they ain’t got no ‘omes to crawl into.
Many Langstone/Portsmouth boats used to put down two or three pots each day and supply anglers with a few dozen hermits for ‘smutting’.

No one bothers any more as you are only likely to get a dozen whelks and no hermits.

Usual story of unsustainable and unmanaged commercial fishing.

Ada you are quite right there fella and it aint just Darn Sowf mate the local Squid fishery in the Moray Firth has all but cleaned the seabed for miles around us local divers have said that its a desert with no weed or features and of course NO fish .

OK, so they’re fishing female cuttles (during spawning!!!!!); but there are no bethnic features left no matter what the otter boards are designed to do ...
