JUST GOT MYSELF NEW ROD N REEL AND AM LOOKING TO BUY SOME BRAID.
THE REEL IS THE SLOSH 30 AND WANT BRAID FOR IT., ANY OPINIONS ON THE BEST BRAID TO BUY WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
IT WANTS TO COVER MOST OF THE FISHING FROM BOATS, DOWNTIDE,WRECKING,REEF,INSHORE.
AND CAN HANDLE MOST FISH

thanks for that..never used that. have used fireline, but it just seems ilittle on the thick side

hi cant go wrong with power pro cast well no bedding in on reel i have been using it for years

yes just been looking at some berkely whiplash pro green.. it looks like the stuff on one of my fixed spools.
and that stuff is good stuff,. casts great and never beds in either. never knew what it was im thinking its probabley the same.

i would say whiplash or fireline, i personally think the 30lb is about right, lost a good fish the other day on 20lb, reef fishing, a little fragile at 20lb.

yes i think 30lb braid is good enough for most fish and i bought whiplash pro 30lb,.
i have 50lb fireline on one of my other reels,,you could hang a house on that stuff..very strong..
but just seems alittle thick and stiff.

I used (Veal’s) Varivas “Supabraid” a month ago and was pleased with how good it is - it is in-between Whiplash and Daiwa depth finder for thickness and feels nice and is well-behaved.

On the other hand Dynon XF (very, very thin) or Dynon MCT (also thin, a bit stiffer and glossier) are very good if you want to go “overstrength” e.g. use 50lb b.s where you’d use 30lb Whiplash or 20lb mono.

The braids i like to use are Berkley Whiplash or Power Pro. I use 30lb Whiplash for plugging and have never had any problems with wind knots. I must admit i do prefer the slightly thicker Power pro for wrecking and pirking from the boats though as i have more confidence in it.

Berkley stealth spiderwire 80lb great for casting on the 525 mag it’s the diamiter of 17lb line never had any problems with it but whiplash is also good

Anglers choice in Dundee does a range of braids i travel through for spiderwire and whiplash he’s the cheapest for bulk spools.

I bought 30lb Power Pro in the bright yellow colour, thinking that it would be easy to detect in the case of tangles. Now it might be me but it also seemed like the bass could detect it too, even with an 18’ leader + Portland rig, my catch rate dropped dramatically. Since I re-spooled with 30lb Whiplash crystal, I’m back catching fish again.
