Daiwa’s 7HT Magnofuge multiplier has taken the UK beaches by storm, but while anglers can’t seem to get enough of the reel, ‘casters’ have issues. Reviewer Neil Mackellow has plenty to say on this one…

Great write up by Neil. As usual.

Its what I’ve heard about the reel but explained far better.

Not sure what you mean by ‘improved’? It is a superb fishing reel after all. The mag assembly could be reconfigured for field casting, but why? If you want more birdies and fraps then just buy a cheaper reel. I am thinking the easiest way to achieve what you want would be to switch the magnofuge side plate for a Turbo side plate that has been mag converted… but then you be better buying the cheaper Turbo in the first place methinks.

Thats what i ment, as a casting reel,,,
yes it is a cracking fishing reel i just though maybe someone had come up with ways to tweak it for the field…
Being that i dont really sea fish at all these days i only use mine for casting practice down the beach (as i dont use my field reels over water)
