i am heading over to Iceland for the month of march. i will be staying in reykjavic on the western side. can you tell me if there is much in the way of fishing to be had here withing reasonable distance. i will not have anything other than public transport! will be over for work but will have some time free for fishing so the rods are coming with me! do the piers fish in the locality? i’ve heard the fishing is slow at this time there but cant get enough info… be extremely grateful for your help.

Hi Magnum. The guy you want to look up is Steve Mason who operates out in Iceland (mactheknife on the forum). He is back home in England at the moment but flies back out shortly. Send him a PM. He knows all the piers and shore marks and will definitely help you out before you go, and probably when you get there too.

You wont regret taking the fishing gear. Some great sport to be had over there from the shore.

I must have learned from others’ mistakes. I haven’t had time to think all those up myself.
