Norfolk Angling Club Struggle At Walcott

Norfolk Angling Club Logo15 anglers fished Monday’s match at Walcott, starting half an hour earlier than normal and fishing the last hour of the flood high water. Pegging was to the right of the slip.

What was immediately noticeable for those who have fished this venue before was the sand build up which is almost to the top of the promenade. This venue was the scene of last weeks hound fest with loads of fish coming out throughout the day, but with the May weed and red weed in the water expectations were not high, but as always spirits and banter was.

From the 15 anglers who fished only six anglers managed to find sizeable fish.

Top rod on the evening with one hound at 79cm was John Catchpole with 5lb 11/3oz. The second podium spot went to Roger Cunnington with two fish for 1lb 22/3oz including a nice 33cm flounder. The final podium spot went to Simon Bottomley also with two fish for 142/3oz.

A tough night for many lets hope the weed thins out for next weeks match at Mundesley.
