Norfolk Catches Improve Prior To Festival Weekend

Norfolk Angling Club LogoAfter a long day of heavy rain, it was nice to see the weather break in time for Monday night’s match, minimal wind, and a generally nice night to be on the beach. Pegging was again left and right of the car park and we had 17 anglers competing including two juniors.

From the off fish were coming in, many undersized but with a smattering of good pouting, whiting and dabs all along the stretch. Word spread along that Leon Smith had caught a dogfish at 62cm so he was most certainly the man to catch.

Sadly no other dogfish were caught but in total we had 59 sizeable fish and probably double that on undersized, so a very enjoyable evening.

Taking top spot was Leon Smith with eight fish for 4lb 91/3oz. Back on form taking the second podium spot was Simon Bone with 10 fish for 3lb 15oz. Third place went to Russell Taylor with eight fish for 3lb 62/3oz.

Heaviest flat went jointly to Russell Taylor and Neil Haynes for their 29cm dabs and heaviest round went to Leon Smith for his dogfish of 62cm.
